I’ve just migrated my site from Squarespace to WordPress and have figured almost everything out except one thing is bugging me – in Squarespace, you can set the focal point on all your images. It’s just built in functionality, you don’t have to do anything special. It’s very easy. In WordPress I guess this is not a thing. I tried downloading the WP Smart Crop plugin so I can set a focal point on my featured images but it didn’t work at all, maybe it doesn’t play nice with the Kadence theme? What do people recommend to achieve this?
I know one thing you can do is upload your image pre-cropped but then I’ll have a million duplicate images, some cropped slightly one way and some cropped slightly another way, it is cumbersome and takes up space in my media library. Plus it means that some photos will have to be uploaded in a weird ratio so that I can force it to focus on a certain part of the image, and then they look grainy and bad when the image gets stretched out across the header.
Hope there’s a solution – thanks!
