Hi guys!
It doesn’t matter what I read I end up wondering what the right way is…
Let me add what I have read and then perhaps someone can put me on the right path..Please tell me if I am wrong in my thinking…;)
Image Sizes WordPress:
Logo images 200×100 px
Background Images 1920×1080 px
Thumbnail images 150×150 px
Featured images (Landscape) 1200×900 px
Featured images (Portrait) 900×1200 px

I will point out I am working on localhost and can’t link to site…. I will upload an image here for clarification…
My heros section is row layout and two sections…as shown I have text on left and image on right…In principle it is like a Featured image (landscape) with text beside it.

Now my first question:
If I have understood the information above regarding images guide – then to allow for a retina screen I would ned double the size of 1200×900….but that would mean images that are 2400x1800px?
That would be ok for my landscape image…still under 3000px but that obviously isn’t possible with the background image size of 1920x1080px….that would mean 3960x2160px (over the 3000px image size you have recommended in the past…

If I take my example using the Featured image (landscape) then I am looking at 2400×1800 if I am to preserve the 4:3 ratio? In my example I have at the moment(until I get corrected) used an image that is 1600x1200px 4:3 ratio I have image file size set to full and size ratio to Landscape 4:3 Yes I know I am not using the 2400x1800px if using double…just thought I am larger than the recommended size…
I have content max width inherit from theme and the content max width of 1200px

Because I am not using own vector graphics I am not in control of there dimensions but can set my artboard in illustrator to what I need and scale up or down my vector artwork…
This makes it easy for me to set the artboard to the aspect ratio I need for a specific image..
Am I right in thinking that because my image is larger than the recommended it will do for even retina or do I need to rethink

Am I totally wrong in my thinking?
I don’t mind taking the time to change things if someone gives me the right information…
Just purchased the life time bundle…so looking forward to getting my feet wet…
I really don’t mind doing the work because at the moment it is for me personally and I want to go about this the right way…;)
