CSS shadow attribute not working properly

I’m not sure how to explain this without just having you look at it:
I’ve placed this code in the CSS attribute box for this particular element which, in this case, is a single picture Virtue Gallery.
box-shadow: 5px 5px 5px #888888;
I chose to use use the Virtue Gallery as I’ve gotten this to work before, such as here: *Login to see link
Not sure what I’m doing wrong this time, but thanks as always for any help or guidance.
