Portfolio categories

Hi There,
I have categorized all my portfolio items into different “Portfolio Types”. However, when I am on a portfolio item page and use the navigation up the top right it goes through all of my portfolio items. I would like it to just go through the portfolio items of that portfolio type how can I do this?
To note I am using the portfolio in a somewhat un-conventional way. I am not using *Login to see link or *Login to see link Instead we are using pages with image gallerys that link to a portfolio item page.
If you navigate to *Login to see link (image gallery page) and select one of the images here. This will lead to another image gallery page example *Login to see link Here you will see four images, each leads to a portfolio post. I would like to have it set up so that when on one of these posts the arrows at the top right only navigate through these four portfolio posts. Also if possible the option in the middle that usually directs to /portfolio to lead back to *Login to see link
