Footer menu css?

Hi there we have a footer menu on the bottom right hand side of our site *Login to see link . Is there a way to make sure the color doesnt change when you hover over the link? Our links our blue and blends in way too much the our background pattern. Ultimately we would like the font to stay white and just have that gray/transparent box show up behind each link. Also, is there a way to change the color of that box to make it stand out more? I look forward to hearing from you
