correct logo dimensions for accurate resolution

Hi, could you please take a look at my header logo on this page…

I have set the image dimensions to 1170px x 260px as that has worked for my other sites but this image has lost definition. I have searched the forum and tutorials but I can’t find anywhere giving page and area dimensions in pixels. If I’m to edit the image, what dimensions are best please?
