Magazine Styling With Homepage Layout Manager

Hi:
Is there a way I can use one or more of the Homepage Layout Manager options, such as “latest blog posts” and “custom carousel”, more than once?
I need to have a couple areas on the home page with blog posts from separate categories. I also need to use a carousel feature a couple of times within the home page layout.
I’ve used the Virtue theme on several websites and love it but can not visualize how to set it up to create more of a magazine layout on then home page, including space for ads. Perhaps Pinnacle is an option?
