"Theme Options" Not Saving

Hello,
I am currently revamping my church’s website that has been up for 6+ years using an old WordPress theme. I am unable to get in touch with the previous webmaster, so what I did was basically start from scratch. I used the “WP Reset” plugin, which yielded some errors, but seemed to clean the slate.
My guess is that this reset has something to do with the fact that I can’t save ANY changes with Ascend’s Theme Options. A popup window shows up each time with ”
“There was a problem with your action. Please try again or reload the page.”
Using the Customize feature I can make changes. However as you folks well know, that doesn’t have as many customization options as “Theme Options” does.
Has anyone else encountered this issue before?
