comment notification plugin not working

I’m just wondering whether the ‘Send email only on Reply to My Comment’ plugin is clashing with this theme in some way as my members are not receiving notifications via email when someone replies to their comments. Is this because mine is a members only password protected site? Is there some other way of members getting notifications when someone comments?
