Portfolio Full home page cropping

Hi, I am trying to create a home page with a full portfolio of all of my work. My problem is that I want all of the images to NOT BE CROPPED to equal height.
I have “crop images to equal height” checked off as “NO” in my home page settings.
All of my other portfolios are working correctly (print work, presentations, web), meaning they are not cropping my images to equal height. It seems to be only when I set the portfolio page to be a static home page that it starts cropping my images.

Also, is there a way to change the way the thumbnails are cropped if I can’t make the home page gallery stop cropping my images.
I really LOVE this theme and am using the premium version.
