Homepage slider including a fixed element

Hi,
Can you help with my homepage slider? I want the client’s crest to appear on the left and the slide show to occupy the remaining two-thirds. I can do this with columns, but that appears as page content rather than header.
Is there a way to show the display I want above the content as a header? Link and login to follow.
