Icons Change Color on hover

I’m sorry, this is a basic question, but it’s driving me nuts.
I’m trying to get the green background color to change when the <div> is hovered over. Right now the background for the .services-grid class turns green when hovered and will link from anywhere inside the thin blue border. I’d like the green background color of the icon to change white for example when the .services-grid div is hovered. I can’t sort out the child selector. I’ve used .services-grid > a:hover to change the BG to green, but can’t access the icon.
I’d like to do the same for the text as well, change on hover.
Any thoughts?
