changing the font colour for "read more" in posts

Hi first of all I am new to word press. I would like to change the font colour for “read more” on the front page post of a site I am doing – I chose the excerpt tag because I want a teaser – currently it is white and is unreadable. How do I accomplish this?
And is there any tutorials I can look at for customizing the virtue premium theme in general?
