Portfolio Metaboxes

Hi,
I’m trying to edit the metaboxes in the portfolio section. In a previous version i have had this working by copying the metaboxes.php and placing it in the lib folder of the child theme.
I notice now that the theme has been updated and there is a metaboxes folder. I have updated the virtue-metabox-post-types.php and placed this in the child theme in the correct spot, plus tried others, but my changes are not working. If i replace the same file in the main theme the changes work…
Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong please?
What I want to do is hardcode the metaboxes for my client to fill in i.e. Price, address, phone etc…
