Ascend Premium Child Theme

Hello,
I just purchased the Ascend Premium theme. I intended to create a child theme, using the php and css sheets available on your site for Ascend Premium. Nut whe I upload them, and then go back on my WP admin, I only have the Ascend Premium theme installed, and a message at the bottom of the page stating that the child theme couldn’t be installed because the Parent Ascend theme is missing. Then a button offering to install the Ascend Parent theme.
If I click on that, the it installs the free version Parent theme, and the Child files then work into a child theme as well.
I am a bit lost. I would like to create a child theme for Ascend premium…
If you could help that would be great!
