Position of icons by using “Center logo menues on side” is not above?

Hi!
Since a few hours I am a new proud owner of the Virtue Premium theme. But, before I choose to buy the premium version i tested the free version extensive.
So,… back to my question. 😉 I use the “Center logo menues on side” setting.
I added icons to my menu by following this tutorial:

Different to the tutorial the icons appear left to the menu text and not above:
