Increasing number of products per page (on shop) beyond 40

Hi,

I would like to increase the number of products per page beyond 40. I noticed that in Virtue the max possible number is also higher (i think 60 or 80 or something), but in Pinnacle it set to a max of 40. Is there a way to increase this number, maybe with a filter in our child theme?

I know about the network performance impact, that is, that more text and product images need to be downloaded on each shop view. But I do not see an alternative in short term.

Background is that we use the category shop filter at the moment for filtering (which only filters on visible products). We’re planning to move to some kind of better category based navigation (happy to hear about approaches here, I could only find *Login to see link so far).

But for the time being simply increasing that number would do as a workaround. At the moment still have a little bit less than 40 products but would like to expand in the future.
