Product filters by attribute

Hello!
I have a number of products and I have arranged for the products to be searchable based on their attributes – customers are able to search by colour / size etc.
However, since switching from a list view to a dropdown version, when searching by attributes, customers are led to a page stating,
‘Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.
It looks like this was the result of either:
a mistyped address
an out-of-date link’
This happens with all the attributes although when the, ‘Filter Products by Attributes’ is changed back to a list view, everything functions as expected.
As the dropdown view is tidier, this is my preferred option.
Can you advise how I can keep the dropdown view and ensure the subsequent page exists please?
