editor won’t let me edit

the layout of my editor recently changed and is now showing an alert to say there is an error. This also means that I can’t update an image which I urgently need to change. In style.css the error is ‘there is one error that must be fixed before you can update this file’ but I don’t know what the error is or how to fix it. I’m trying to change my footer image.
