sidebar won’t turn off from blog page

yes, first i have tried this *Login to see link
i have it set to full width
i have it set to 3 columns
and still i get no grid and a sidebar…
i’m getting increasingly frustrated.
also, i have ALL plugins deactivated, so i don’t think it’s a plugin conflict.
any thoughts? thanks in advance.
