Portfolio using a category media shortcode

Hi,
I am using a WP Media Category Management Plug In and rather than using a gallery to insert my images into my porfolio pages which I need to edit each time we add pictures to the media folder, I think using the shortcode would be automatic when pics are added to the category media folders, correct? I would like to use a shortcode for each of the categories created with this plug in.
Can you help me with one of the shortcode, I can figure out the others.
