Header is not transparent

I had my header set to be transparent and it was working fine, but I when into the customize page editor and it switched to a white opaque background that shows the home page slider behind it. I can not figure out how to get this thing back completely transparent. Please help!
PS. It’s currently in maintenance mode. Please let me know if I need to disable that.
