My client prefers a slideshow with thumbnails for displaying her sculptures. The captions are centered at the bottom of each photo but some are longer than the width of the photo. Is it possible to contain the captions to the width of the photo (each photo is the same height but difference widths)?

The captions could be in 2 lines. Or a title and a caption underneath.
