API key not working on subdomain

Hi, our main website is running Virtue Premium at conversari.com. We’re currently redesigning the website, and we have a sandbox development version on a subdomain (multilingual.conversari.com). The API key we’re using for the root domain doesn’t work for activating the theme on the subdomain, but without activating the theme, the site under developmment is totally broken. At the same time, I can’t deactivate the theme API key on the live site. What can we do?
