Existing posts to Revolution Slider

I’m trying to add existing posts to a new revolution slider. Just downloaded the rev slider from Virtue 1.7.9. After creating a new slider, tried to add posts, it only allows “new” posts. Tried to add new posts and display still shows no slides added. All this is being done in the Revolution section. Can the slides or posts only be added in the theme’s settings section?
