JS Error: “Add to Cart” does not work anymore

I upgraded from 4.7.8 to the latest Virtue Version 4.8.1. Due to a JS Error the whole “Add to Cart” does not work anymore with Firefox. On variable products clicking on the Variation button does not work. Error is:
Error: No layout mode: undefined plugins-min.js:17:7344
I guess this is because the Error stops JS execution.
In Chrome “Add to Cart” still works although the same error is thrown.
