modify ‘content’ size for desktop, but no impact on responsive/mobile

I would like to reduce the width of the ‘content’ for blog posts when viewing from a desktop device, but without impacting/reducing the content display from mobile devices.
Is there a way to do achieve this in the ‘Advanced Settings’ of the theme options?
