How do I size my images for kadence slider pro?

I would like for my kadence slider pro height size to be around 500 px. This looks good in full screen mode, I want full width as well. However my images are not scaling to the 500 by ~1200 or so size of the kadence slider area. I have tried cropping and resizing in photo shop to get the look I desire. Most of the time the images are cropped by the kadence slider pro to give me a zoomed in image of what I desire. How do I match the kadence slider pro height and width to the image size so that I get the full image to display with setting to full height or width or aspect ratio? I thought that if I matched the image ration with the image size that this would work but so far unsuccessful. would also like to use parallax.
