I previously had the Mailchimp for WP plug-in placing a sign-up in the top bar, but was getting a lot of spam sign-ups. I want to change is so the top bar is only some text (“Click here to sign-up up for our contact list”) and a button which will bring up a window for our sign-up form.

I can’t figure out how to customize the top bar like that. Everything is either placing an icon or menu navigation.

Am I better off downloading something like the Top Bar plug-in, or is there functionality to do what I’m looking for in the Virtue theme?
