Product images not below but next to default image

On product pages I noticed that having the images below a product is not the optimal alignment. Having them on the right hand side would be better.

The 3 images are below the default product image. This means that the describtion, reviews, product video tabs are below “the fold”. The customers must scroll to be able to see this important information.
Could these images also be placed next to the default image. This way less space would be wasted and no scrolling necessary. Have a look at how it is done here: *Login to see link

Can this be done by some kind of CSS?
This in my opinion less optimal image placement is also visible at your demo shop, e.g. *Login to see link So maybe a general solution might be worth investigating.
