Calendar widget does not show distinct entries.

When I use the calendar widget, I can’t see a color difference or highlight image over the days when posts were made. If I move the mouse over the days, they mouse will change (and balloon text will show) when an entry was made. But unless I do this, I have no indication that an entry was made on a day. Is this the way it should work? I’m used to color differences (at least) or iconology (circled number) to show that “something important” happened on that day.
