How to style icon on menu item hover

Hi,
I’m using the Ascend theme and would like to add CSS styling (color change or size) to the menu icon when the user hovers over the navigation label.
This is the main navigation and the icons are located above the labels.
I’ve given the icons CSS classes in Appearance/Menu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve been spinning my wheels with this!
