Order Product Attributes (not their values)

Hi
Do you know if there is a way to change the order of Product Attributes?
I don’t mean attribute values, for which there is drag and drop functionality, when ordering is set to Custom.
I mean the Attributes themselves. I want them to appear in a more logical order, both on the backend and, more importantly, on the Additional Information tab.
Their order appears to be the order in which they were created. I could delete them all and re-create them in the correct order, but this would involve a large amount of work, and would not help if, as is likely, I need to create additional Attributes in the future.
