Mobile Only CSS Commands for Displaying Post Excerpts

Hey,
so im trying to use the CSS
@media only screen {
}
to format the blog post excerpts on the home page, so they should up in a 2 column fashion, as they do on desktop. Currently they show larger sized boxes one above the other on mobile. What do i add into the CSS to make this work? Ive been struggling for days!
