Using Advanced Heading, for example, when you go to the Kadence Block Settings area in Gutenberg, or when configuring a block in the editor. There is a place where you can set the font family. Currently the default is “Select Font Family”. If you don’t select anything then the Customizer default is used, which is as it should be. What I’m suggesting is that it says instead something like “Theme Default” or “Ariel (Theme Default)” to reflect the font that is in play. I imagine this could be done when using the Kadence theme, not sure how difficult it would be when using other themes. It seems to me that showing that the default is being used would be helpful. People writing would know that they didn’t need to change it and if they did that they were overriding the default.
