portfolio next / previous reversed

Hi Ben,
On my site in Ascend the if you click on the first portfolio item, at the bottom instead of having a next button that goes to the next portfolio item it has previous.
I have set the order of the portfolio posts and the short code uses menu order but it is still reversed
any suggestions?
