Split Content and MailChimp

When I create a post using Split Content block, Mailchimp doesn’t recognize any text portion when publishing post. Is there a way to get Mailchimp to pickup a portion of the text within the split content block? Mailchimp layout has the excerpt feature checked. So, Mailchimp picks up on it when using paragraph block but not split content block. Any ideas?
