Confused! How do I customize my images for Kadence?

Hi, everyone.
I am testing Kadence on my site, and I love it!
But I am confused about the images and thumbnails, so I’d be grateful if someone could help me.
For my old theme, I would upload a 1320×880 (3:2) image. The theme would then automatically create several thumbnails of different sizes, to be used in different layouts.
Now that I have switched, how do I customise my images for Kadence?
Kadence recommends at least 1600×1600 for the page and post featured images, but my full-size images are just 1320×880. Will that cause any problems?
In the Archive Layout settings, Kadence offers these options:
Thumbnail
Medium
Medium large
Large
Full size
How do I create these different sizes?
Basically, how do I customize my images for Kadence? How do I ensure that the right-sized thumbnails are downloaded? I don’t want large images to be used as thumbnails.
