Profile picture without using Gravatar

Not sure if I should be asking general knowledge here just delete if not but maybe Kadence have thought about this. Currently I get a broken image in all wordpress sites i use as I dont use Gravatar or wordpress.com. i tried it and researched and found it follows you and collects information about you unbeknownst to you. It gets it from any sites that integrate with Gravatar – not keen on this! This is a privacy and security issue and its also fairly easy for nasties to scrape your email from your public profile and elsewhere, decoding the hash and then potentially a smart scrape will also link it to all the wordpress sites you’re a member of. Bingo – now they just need your password. In addition to this, who knows what Gravatar will do with all the information they collect and if you can ever get it removed… The issues I see are insurmountable for my usage. So, ending my long rant – whats the simplest way to give all WordPress sites I’m a member of a profile picture without using Gravatar?
