Gallery images showing in Publish box in WordPress editor

This is a new one for me. I don’t know if it’s an issue with Ascend and new versions of WordPress, or if it’s related to SiteOrigin, but my gallery photos have populated in the Publish box outside the main editor window in WordPress. I can click on them to open in a new tab, but I can’t see how to remove them.
I tried clearing the gallery, but that didn’t work. I’ve refreshed, closed, reloaded, but that isn’t working. The blog post appears fine online, but those pictures block my access to the Publish and Refresh buttons, and disorganize the rest of the screen. Any ideas?
