How to copy HTML code of a button succesfully in another page?

I have created a custom preformatted button (with gradient colour). I want to use the exact same one in hundreads of pages. I copy it via “edit HTML” but when I want to re-use it in a different page, the formatting does not work and the button looks different.
How can I make sure that it works?
