Is there an advantage to using the Kadence theme and Starter Templates?

I’ve been using the original themes very happily for many years. I liked how adaptable they are. But is there any advantage to using the kadence theme with the starter templates? Are they equally adaptable? Are they faster loading or better for SEO? Are the original themes outdated now? Are they no longer being updated? I would love to hear your opinions, thanks in advance.
