Image sizes

I am using a free kadence theme and loving it sofar. the theme is the marketing and seo best trends theme.
I am trying to replace the images that come with the theme. but the theme supplied images are much quicker to low and smaller size than the ones I use and edit in photoshop.
For example, an image of the same size of 1400 x 1157 is 75kb for the kadence images that comes with the template.
By comparison an image that I use that is the same size is 700kb+.
When I download THEIR image to my PC and look at it in photoshop the size is big as well but somehow on the kadence site it is a much smaller size.
I am confused. What is this magic!?
There must be a trick on how to accomplish making the image sizes smaller and the site load faster.
Any help will be appreciated immensely!
