Glitchy typing in Advanced Text block

When I edit an existing Text (Adv) block, the cursor placement/selection/typing is all jumbled up.
Examples:
Select a word to edit by double clicking it. The first letter I type appears, then disappears and is replaced with the first letter of the original word as I continue to type, then the rest of the word I type appears normally. So if I replace the word xylophone with KADENCE, I get ADENCEx.
or click to place cursor anywhere in the block to add some text and the first letter I type appears normally, but the cursor then moves to in front of the letter I just typed.
So if I type KADENCE, I get ADENCEK. In addition, the space before the next word is eliminated.
This is happening on 3 sites, one running Ascend Premium and 2 running Kadence Pro. Doesn’t seem to be happening on my site running Virtue, or on several sites running other themes.
