featured products acting strange

Hello, i recently noticed my featured product carousel is showing a mere fraction of what i set it up to do and wondered if i was missing something obvious. I set up a new one on a new page to see if it was a page builder issue as im using the carousel widget in a pagebuilder row on the home page. http://www.fossilbeach.co.uk and that one displayed a different set of featured products but was still limiting the products to a small choice. Am i right in thinking designating a product as featured is just a matter of clicking the star in the product page?
