I have set up a portfolio page and portfolio items which show up on the home page portfolio carousel. I would like to put an excerpt of the portfolio item on the home page carousel.

I can’t see anywhere that this is possible. I can put a hand-crafted excerpt on the portfolio item which appears on the portfolio page (I do this because if I tick ‘display excerpt’ nothing shows up, presumably because I have tabs on the portfolio item page?) but that doesn’t appear on the home page carousel.

Is it at all possible to have an excerpt on the home page carousel?
