Icon shortcode change background color on hover

Before I ask another question, I want to say what a fantastic group you guys are, and how much I appreciate your tech support. You are the best, and I hope that business is great.
How do you get an Icon with a link to show a different color on hover. I have set a 20% lighter color in Basic Styling that works for links in text. But it does not work for hover on a shortcode Icon. So I added bhovercolor=”” to the icon shortcode, but that doesn’t work either. The link does work.
