Always problems with visual editor

Hi,
it seems like the visual editor widget is a pain to use…
I can insert the widget, but when I click on it to add a picture or text for example, the cursor won’t set, neither in visual or text mode.
I was able to cick on “add file” and insert an image, though you cannot see the actual image in the widget, only on the frontend you can see it.
Once I had added the image, I checked again in text mode and after clicking a few times with the cursor, the html text for the image showed up – but still no image in visual mode.
What can be causing this problem?
