Hi Ben,

a few questions regarding the product image sizes – you are writing on your Woocommerce tutorial that is is important to have the WC Image Options to 270×270 for Catalog images, 468×468 for Single Product Images and 90×90 for Product thumbnails.

On the other hand, there is a Product Image sizes -section in Theme options/Shop options where I can choose the product image aspect ratio to 1:1, 3:4, 4:3 or 4:2

My product images from the brand owner are originally 4:3 aspect ratio which I have now photoshopped to square images. The product image background is pure white, similar to the background color on my site. On desktop browser a lot of white is uber cool, giving the colorful products a chance to breath and shine. However, browsing the white backgrounded square images on mobile browsers tend to feel too spacey – I would prefer to use the original 4:3 aspect ratio images there which would get the product images to feel a lot closer each other, especially in mobile.

the questions:

a) is it feasible to use landscape 4:3 product images on Virtue Premium?
b) if yes, I should also configure the image options in Woocommerce image options to same 4:3 aspect ratio right?
c) should I use your recommended widths (270, 468, 90) and assign the height to match the 4:3 aspect ratio?
d) what is the preferred image size to be uploaded – I recall reading somewhere that it’s good to use bigger images for them not to blur e.g. a multiple of 468×468 as you recommend in WC tutorial.

I know I could just experiment this myself but you might already have the answer/opinion available.

Thanks, Hannu
