Native WordPress Post Types

A lot of poeple have other tools that depend on the core functionality of WP. Native post type is a big me and our artists…
To be specific for a use case scenario: Ben Kweller site that I’m still working on pulls posts in from other sources:
Facebook
Youtube
Instagram etc…
The tool (WPMUDEV Autoblog) that is use uses the native post types as an option for the type of posts depending on the settings we make for the source it’s coming from. So YouTube gets a post type of video, Instagram gets a post type of Image. Unfortunately these don’t translate to Virtue natively.
Right now I have hundreds of posts with featured images but they aren’t featured in Virtue unless I manually go into each post and make it a virtue post type and then set the except to show in the archives
BTW that option to change the post type has recently disappeared on me with latest updates. So I’m kinda stuck twice here. Sorry, I know this is big question!
